Eclipse Extravaganza!
August 12, 2017
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

A full solar eclipse will cast a shadow on the Carmel Clay Public Library on August 21, 2017. The last full solar eclipse to be seen here was in 1972, so for many people, this is the first time they will stand in the shadow of the moon. To lead up to this historic event, the Carmel Clay Public Library will be hosting an Eclipse Extravaganza on August 12. Enjoy food, music, face painting, and solar eclipse games and crafts!

Our fun, family event will feature daytime telescope viewing of the sun with H-Alpha telescopes provided by the Link Observatory Space Science Institute, as well as educational materials for safe eclipse viewing practices. We will have free eclipse viewing glasses for attendees! The Carmel High School Tech Hounds will show off their robotic skills and promote Women in STEM, and Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation will be here as well.
This solar eclipse will be an event celebrated all across the United States, and the Carmel Clay Public Library wants to celebrate with you!
This event will be held on the North Lawn of the Carmel Clay Public Library. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will move indoors.
No registration is required. For more information, call the Reference Desk at (317) 844-3362.20814996_10213247918694454_1785267559_n (1)
